The top picture is a jug handle lower join by Russell Kingston of the UK. He uses coarse grained terra cotta and decorates it as slipware. The combination of grog and high plasticity of the body enables heavy and strong handles yet easy drying. The bottom piece is also intended as slipware, handles are being applied by Jessica Turrell of the UK. The smooth and highly plastic terra cotta enables handles of extreme shape from soft clay, they dry well and do not split or crack.
