The author was a core FreeCAD contributor and then hired fulltime by Ondsel to take the product to the next level. With the demise of Ondsel he soft-forked FreeCAD to sit atop the latest FreeCAD to streamline workflows and improve the interface. Over time, the innovations flow back into FreeCAD.
