How to take a picture using an iPhone, crop and resample it, save it, then upload it to a recipe.
It is often a good idea to take your pictures from a photo editing app rather than just the camera. Why? To minimize their resolution.
You can crop using your phone but phones want photos to be in the maximum resolution so they can charge you more for your cloud storage. Saving your photos at 1024 or 1600 pixel width and good compression can easily reduce file size ten-fold without loss of quality on the parts that need to be seen. When you upload in Insight-live and send that cropped and adjusted image the upload will be much quicker.
Most photo editors also enable overlay of blocks of text (e.g. sample numbers) with drop shadow. You can move the text around, rotate and resize it.
