Na2O 5.90% 0.32
B2O3 14.30% 0.68
Al2O3 10.70% 0.35
SiO2 57.50% 3.17
Oxide Weight 331.20
Formula Weight 331.20

Notes

A medium to hard unleaded frit suitable for use alone or with others to produce clear glazes. A glaze made of frit and 10% kaolin will have a firing range of 1050 to 1100 deg.C. Adding 10% KGF4064 to this glaze will lower its firing temperature; just as adding a similar amount of silica and/or calcined alumina will increase the firing temperature of the glaze. Also available in milled form (1019663 - KMP4131), milled to a nominal 98% less than 75 microns.

The data sheet of a frit having a proprietary chemistry

Some frit companies publish the chemistry of their frits, others do not. Some publish some of their products. Some published in the past but do not do so now. When frit data sheets do not provide an oxide analysis they become an impediment to use in glaze chemistry.

Materials Frit
Frits are made by melting mixes of raw materials, quenching the melt in water, grinding the pebbles into a powder. Frits have chemistries raw materials cannot.
Typecodes Frit
A frit is the powdered form a man-made glass. Frits are premelted, then ground to a glass. They have tightly controlled chemistries, they are available for glazes of all types.
