Notes

Fillite "cenospheres" are lightweight, hollow, spherical, low density, free-flowing, alumino-silicate microspheres used as a versatile lightweight filler. The spheres are so tiny (as small as 5 microns) that the material appears to be a typical ceramic powder. For typical grades of Fillite 50-100% passes a 100 micron sieve.

Average Particle Density - 0.78 - 0.95 g/cc
Average Bulk Density - 0.4 - 0.49 g/cc (25-32 lbs/ft3)
Packing Factor - 60% - 65%
Hardness - Mohs Scale 5
Average Wall Thickness - 5 - 10% Sphere Diameter
Melting Temperature - 1200°-1350°C (2190°-2460°F)
Thermal Conductivity - 0.11 Wm- 1k-1
Loss on Ignition - 4% maximum
Surface Moisture - 0.3% maximum
Crush Strength - 1500 - 3000 psi
Oil Absorption - 16 - 18 g oil/100 g

Hebei Gator Chemicals Tech Co., Ltd. also produces Cenospheres. They list a similar chemistry but also show TiO2 at 0.5% - 1.5%.
