Colorant
Metallic based materials that impart fired color to glazes and bodies. |
Body Color | Engobe or Body Stain: Suitable for all types of bodies and slips. No tendency to strike or flash. Extremely stable under reducing conditions |
---|---|
Glaze Color | Suitable for all types of glazes, although best results are obtained with leadless glazes having low alkali and boron contents. Used extensively for producing shades of ivory at low percentage concentrations. Overmilling the colour when adding to glaze should be avoided as it tends to weaken the colour rapidly. Advisable only to slop the stain as it disperses readily. Underglaze Color: Excellent stability, especially in decoration of porcelain at high temperature in reducing atmosphere. |
