Description: Greys (ZrCoFeNi)

Notes

Made from mixtures of zirconium oxide together with oxides of cobalt, iron and nickel.

Color Range

Shades of grey ranging from yellowy brown to neutral.

Specific Gravity: 4.5-4.7

Stability/Kiln Atmosphere
-------------------------
Stable at temperatures up to over 1300C in an oxidizing to slightly reducing atmosphere.

Compatibility
-------------
Suitable for blending with most other types of ceramic colors.

Cost
----
Relatively low.

Mechanisms

Glaze ColorDo not make grey shades by using small amounts of black since the dominant oxide in the formulation will impose its shade of color (e.g. blue from cobalt). It is better to use grey stain.
