Crystalline Vein Graphite

Description: 90-99% carbon

Notes

A light grey natural graphite with a metallic sheen and needle-like particles. It is thought to have been deposited in veins or fissures in the earth's crust by the pyrolosis of carbon-bearing gases such a methane or carbon dioxide. This is a potentially very pure form of graphite and it can have excellent electrical and lubricant properties. It is the purest and most crystallized of the natural graphites.

Used for batteries, lubricants, grinding wheels, powder metallurgy.
