Thermax, Thermax Ultra Pure and Thermal Stainless are carbon blacks produced by thermal decomposition of natural gases under controlled conditions of temperature and pressure. Based on particle size, Thermax is considered a medium thermal black. It is also available in pellet form. It is used in the manufacture of glass, metallic carbides, electrodes and high temperature furnace insulation. It is manufactured in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada at Cancarb Ltd.
