Bleach

Description: Dilute solution of sodium hypochlorite

Notes

Common laundry bleach (tradenamed "Clorox" in the US, "Javex" in Canada) is a solution of 5.75% sodium hypochlorite, NaOCl. On heating the composition reverts to lye (NaOH) and liberates chlorine gas and some nascent oxygen.

It is an effective against fungi, bacteria, algae and mildew agent at concentrations above 10 ppm.
