People need to find your dreamsite. SEO (or Search Engine Optimization) is the key, you use it to optimize the content of pages to get them to place in the top ten on the principal internet search engine (I won't name it here, but we all know it!).

SEO is a relative, not an absolute science, and I have discovered a simple SEO method. I will tell you enough about it here to demonstrate its value. I charge $200 to analyze a URL using my method (just email me and we can get started). When you see my method you will learn to optimize any page.

At the time of writing this I have number-one or top-ten hits on almost every page on this site! Many hits are for two or three word phrases and many hit on more than one phrase! More Than Just Placement is Involved in Optimization for Search Engines

If you look at each of the hits I have you will notice that a compelling paragraph of text follows the heading (in the smaller print). Many companies have a number top-ten listing but the text shown is meaningless! Obviously you have to catch peoples' attention. Look at the hit for 'custom shopping cart' above as an example.

Also you must choose a phrase that people are likely to search for, that is very important. It is no good to have a #1 hit that no one ever searches for. Also, forget about trying to place one word (you can buy a top-ten listing using ad-words if you like).

I compare the existing number 1 page with number 2 and 3.
This makes it evident why number 2 and 3 are not number one, it tells me what the search engine values in its optimization system. I then do what number 1 did right and number 2 and 3 did wrong!
Of course, the next question is, how do I do that comparison? I wrote the Digitalfire SEO Analyzer (only I have access to it). I paste the URLs of the top two and click a compare button. A side-by-side analysis is printed making it evident what features influence placement. Comparing #3 and 4 will confirm this. Amazingly pages that apparently break all the rules of optimization often still place highly because they did one important thing right or their competitors did everything wrong. Also very fancy ones that SEO companies have optimized often do not place. Similarly, while CMS systems like Wordpress or Joomla often brag about how they are search engine friendly, that does not mean they know anything about search engine optimization.

While there are other factors and technical issues besides just the content, I believe many are over rated. Page content is 90% of the search engine optimization battle.

The age of the internet brings an unprecedented lack of correspondency between suitability and price. A solution that costs hundreds of dollars can be better than one costing hundreds of thousands, and search engine optimization is a great example. This is an inexact science with no guarantees, but common sense will get you a long ways.
