Queenston Shale

A red burning low plasticity clay mined in Ontario, Canada. It has been used for many years in the brick industry. It is high in soluble salts and matures quickly after cone 02.

Queenston shale fired bars from cone 06 to cone 4. The top two bars are cone 2 and 4, the third from the top is cone 02.
