It is a low-melting iron stained clay (hits zero porosity around cone 1). Very plastic (11% drying shrinkage) and slow drying (Albany Slip, by contrast, is non plastic and fast drying). Alberta Slip is more plastic than Albany, but not nearly as plastic as this.
