Download the Clayart Glaze List as INSIGHT recipe files
Login Required to download
Note: If you downloaded this before Oct 16, 2007 INSIGHT may have had problems reading some of these recipes.
They contain characters that require special XML handling.
Importing into INSIGHT Recipe Database
You can read more about this database by clicking here.
The INSIGHT files contain all the information in the original except for hazard warnings.
The name, color, cone, surface, glaze type and firing are combined in the name.
The chemistry that INSIGHT calculates will be slightly different because of differences in the materials database.
We are working on an INSIGHT search-the-web-for-glazes feature that will make all of these and many others available without having to install them all.
This procedure assumes that you are using a database version of INSIGHT and you have not disabled the recipe database feature.
See below for instructions to remove the recipes from the database.
- Download the archive file to your desktop (login at digitalfire.com and click the Download link on our home page)
- Create a temporary folder on your desktop
- Open the archive and select all the recipe files and drag them to the temporary folder
- Close everything and launch INSIGHT
- Choose Import Recipes from the Utility menu, find the folder you created and select it
- Click the Yes button in the confirmation dialog and the recipe files will be imported into INSIGHTs recipe database
- Choose Open in the INSIGHT file menu (type the word clayart into the CodeNumber blank at the top to show only the clayart recipes)
- Click the "See Notes/Recipes" checkbox for a detailed view (widen the window and the description column more if needed)
- Enter a search word in the 'Description' blank to find specific recipes
Here is the Recipe Open window: (notice that celadon glazes are being searched)
