This is one of the most popular sites on the internet, articles here consistently place number one on google.com. It is a cooperatively authored encyclopedia with millions of articles in dozens of languages, it makes a great starting point for researching almost any topic. The site has excellent coverage of almost any mineral known, and it provides links to other sites with a host of information about minerals. You can even change an article if you like (although you need to be prepared to have your changes or additions removed or edited by others).
